19 years in construction
Dom Rzaca Founder, Albany AI Pros

Albany AI Pros was started by Dom Rzaca, a contractor with 19 years in construction: masonry, EIFS and stucco, coatings, concrete and restoration.

Dom has a master's degree in civil engineering from Poland. Today he owns and runs The Dom Construction Group here in Albany (www.TheDomConstruction.com), and he also manages rental properties. So bids due Friday, a full inbox and books that have to match the bank aren’t theory to us. They’re our week.

We built AI systems to take that work off our plate, and we run our own company on them every day. Now we set the same kind of systems up for other local businesses, in person, on your own tools.

AI estimating & takeoff

Drawing sets measured, priced and cross-checked by three AI models, then turned into the estimate workbook, proposal and marked-up sheets.

The problem
Every bid at The Dom Construction Group starts with a stack of PDF drawings and a thick spec book.
What changed
A takeoff starts as a draft we check, not a blank page we fill in at night.

Bid Radar

Every weekday morning it reads our inbox and New York's public bid sites, scores each opportunity for fit and sends one ranked report.

The problem
Public work in New York is posted all over the place.
What changed
Mornings start with a short, ranked list instead of a pile of open tabs.

Supplier & sub pricing requests

A personal pricing-request email for every supplier and sub on the list, drafted in one go, sent one at a time, with replies and follow-ups tracked.

The problem
A bid lives or dies on the prices you get back from suppliers and subs.
What changed
Pricing requests go out the day we decide to bid, not whenever someone finds a free evening.

Books from bank statements

A year of bank statements and platform reports turned into an accountant-ready workbook with a P&L, balance sheet, ledger and reconciliations.

The problem
Dom runs a construction company and manages rental properties, and each business has its own bank accounts.
What changed
The accountant gets the same clean format every year, for every company.

Owner's live dashboard

One page that updates itself: open bids, active jobs, who is waiting on a call back and what needs doing today.

The problem
In a small construction company the important stuff lives in a lot of places.
What changed
The day starts with one page instead of a tour through every app.

Paperwork on autopilot

Certificates of insurance, vendor forms, registrations and prequal packets filled from one saved company file, then checked by a person.

The problem
Every new general contractor, school district or property manager wants the same facts in a different form.
What changed
A packet that used to eat an evening is now mostly a review job.

Website & local marketing

Our construction company's own website, lead form, Google Business Profile posts, ads and conversion tracking, all set up with AI.

The problem
An agency for all of it costs more than many small companies can justify.
What changed
The website finally explains what we do in the words customers use when they search.

  3. Step 3

    Build

We build on your own accounts and tools, then test it on your real work before you rely on it.

In plain English

This is an estimate, not a promise.

We’ll check these numbers against how your week really goes.

How we calculate this

Plain arithmetic on the numbers above. The lines in grey use your current inputs, rounded to the nearest hour or dollar.

  1. Admin hours a year = team size × admin hours a week × 48 working weeks. We use 48 weeks, not 52, to allow for holidays and slow weeks.
  2. Hours back = admin hours a year × the share AI could take on. Likely uses your share. Conservative uses half of it.
  3. Time back in dollars = hours back × loaded hourly cost.
  4. New work booked = missed calls a week × 48 × the share that would book × average job value. Conservative uses half your booking rate.
  5. Value back a year = time back in dollars + new work booked.
  6. Payback = the package’s starting price ÷ value back a month (value a year ÷ 12). Under about six weeks we show it in weeks. For the monthly plan we compare the value back each month with the monthly cost instead.

What this leaves out

  • Job value is revenue, not profit. What you keep depends on your margin.
  • Time back only turns into money when it goes to paid work, less overtime, or a hire you can put off.
  • The first few weeks are slower while your team gets used to the new way.
  • One package rarely does everything. An AI receptionist is what catches missed calls. Setup and training mostly speeds up the paperwork.
  • Software subscriptions are billed to you directly by the vendor and are not counted here.
  • Prices are starting prices. The real number comes after we look at how your week really goes.

An estimate from your own numbers, not a promise. Nothing you type leaves this browser.

FAQ

Questions owners ask

Straight answers on cost, time, data and what happens after we leave.

All 20 questions

Ask us yourself

Call or text, whichever is easier. Mówimy po polsku.

Do you really come to my office?

Yes. We drive to your shop, office or job trailer anywhere in the Capital Region, sit with the people who answer the phones and do the paperwork, and set things up on your own computers and phones. If you’d rather come to us, our office at 401 New Karner Road in Albany is open by appointment.

What does it cost?

The first visit or call is free. After that, prices start at $500 for a workflow audit (credited toward any build), $1,500 for AI setup and team training, $3,500 per automation and $350 a month for a care plan. Those are starting prices; you get the final price in writing after the audit, before any work begins. Software subscriptions are billed to you directly by the vendor, with no markup from us.

How long does it take?

Most first projects are live in one to three weeks after the audit. A bigger build, like estimating from your drawings, takes more like three to five weeks, including test runs on bids you’ve already priced. You get the timeline in writing before we start, and we test everything on your real work before you rely on it.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. If you can send a text and open an email, you can use what we set up. We train your team in person, on their own phones and computers, and leave a short written how-to for everything we build. Most of it runs in the background; your part is usually reading a draft and tapping approve.

Is my data safe?

We treat it like our own. Everything is set up on your accounts, using the business version of each tool with training on your data turned off wherever the vendor allows it. Sensitive information never goes into free consumer AI apps, and patient information only goes into HIPAA-eligible tools covered by a signed BAA. Our AI and data policy page spells out the details.

Will AI replace my staff?

That’s not what we set it up for. It takes the repetitive parts off their plate: sorting the inbox, retyping the same quote, chasing the same follow-up, keying in receipts. Your people still talk to customers and make the calls that matter, and you decide what the AI may send on its own and what waits for a person to approve.

Which AI tools do you use?

Whatever fits your business and what you already pay for. Usually that’s Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot, with tools like Zapier or Make to connect them to your email, calendar and QuickBooks. If your office runs on Google Workspace, Gemini is often the easy fit; on Microsoft 365, Copilot often is. We’re not a reseller or partner of any of these companies, so we have no reason to push one.

Can it work with my current software?

Usually, yes. We build on what you already use (Gmail or Outlook, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, QuickBooks, your phone system, AppFolio or Buildium) instead of asking you to switch. When something has no direct connection, we look for a simple workaround like a shared spreadsheet or a forwarded email, and if it can’t be done well, we tell you before you spend anything.
